Skills for the Future II Program
Job Announcement
The Government of Barbados through the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT) has been granted a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank for the overall management and support of its Skills for the Future II Program. The general objective of the program is to improve the quality and equity of education by supporting the transformation of the education system. The specific objectives are
(i) Promote student-centered classroom instruction approaches around relevant skills for the 21st century.
(ii) promote a more inclusive education;
(iii) Create a sustainable, safe and accessible learning environment by upgrading physical and technological school infrastructure; and
(iv) strengthen sector management.
Part of the program aims to ensure that a low carbon and resilient infrastructure will be a cornerstone feature of the effort and will be aligned to the country’s international climate commitments.
The Skills for the Future II Program is managed by a Project Coordinating Unit whose remit it is to deliver the results as envisaged by the METVT as Executing Agency.
The Project Coordinating Unit, The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Vocational Training now invites qualified persons to fill the following positions as outlined in one of its areas of focus:
Individual Consultant – Project Officer
Individual Consultant – Application Support Specialist
Individual Consultant-Communications Specialist
Recruitment will be done in accordance with IDB policies and procedures. Individual Consultants’ Regulations: Selection based on their qualification for the assignment and comparison of qualifications of Individual Consultants. The Individual Consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Inter-American Development Bank: GN2350- 15 Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (May 2019 edition) at https://projectprocurement.iadb.org/en/policies.
