The Government of the Republic of Cuba is providing full scholarships to Barbadian students in the 2025-2026 academic year to pursue either undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Cuba in the following disciplines:
- Medicine
- Health Technology
- Stomatology
ELIGIBILTY
Applicants benefitting from a Cuban Scholarship should be Citizens of Barbados.
Current requirements for Undergraduate Programmes
- Citizens of Barbados between 16 and 25 years old, (only for Undergraduate studies)
- A high school or pre-university graduate.
- Coming from a low-income family that cannot afford to pay for his/her studies.
Academic Requirements
- An official copy of Undergraduate Degree, baccalaureate or equivalent level Certificate and Transcript of Grades.
- An original Health Certificate, including a negative HIV test and proof that the female student is not pregnant.
- Original Criminal Record Certificate.
- Birth Certificate and a copy translated into Spanish.
- Ten (10) 1x1 inch photos.
Postgraduate Programmes
- Bachelor’s degree Certificate and the transcript of grades.
- Original Health Certificate, including negative HIV test and proof of non-pregnancy for female students.
- Original Criminal Record Certificate.
- Birth Certificate.
- Ten (10) 1x1 inch photos.
Please note that all documents must be translated to Spanish.
Applicants should be prepared to travel during the month of August 2025.
Application forms for the scholarship can be obtained from the Ministry’s website at www.mes.gov.bb or the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael.
Completed applications should be submitted to the Ministry no later than March 28, 2025.
