District A Police Station Prose-Poetry-Poster Competition 2024

Competition for Public and Private Schools by the District A Police Station

The community officers of District ‘A’ Police Station are inviting the public and private
schools in the Bridgetown Division to participate in their Prose, Poetry and Poster competition 2024.

The competition, under the theme “Use Yuh Voice … If you see something, say something!” seeks to:

• Foster creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression among the youth.
• Provide an outlet for the voice of the youth to be heard.
Students are, therefore, free to address any societal issue/antisocial behaviour, for example, domestic issues, bullying at school, peer pressure, suicide, crime and violence, cyberbullying, etc.

1. The competition targets:
Classes 3 and 4 Primary School students (Age 9 – 11 years old). Each participant is required to submit ONE genre (Essay or Poem)
Each primary school should submit 10 entries per genre.


Secondary School students: Juniors (11 – 14 years old); Seniors (15 – 18 years old).

Each participant is required to submit ONE genre (Essay or Poem or Poster)

Each secondary school should submit 10 entries per genre in each age category.

The deadline for submission is on or before Sunday, March 31, 2024 at 11.59 p.m.

2. Schools are free to organize their own method of elimination to submit their most outstanding participants.
