The Government of the Republic of Cuba is providing full scholarships to Barbadian students in the academic year 2020-2021 to pursue either undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Cuba in the following disciplines:
- Medicine
- Dentistry
- Nursery
- Postgraduate courses
Eligibility
(i) Applicants must be citizens of Barbados
Academic Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) subjects at CSEC Level, inclusive of at least three (3) of the four (4) following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at Grades 1 or 2.
- English Language is compulsory for all areas of study.
Other Requirements
i. Students must be between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24) years.
ii. Coming from a low-income family who cannot afford to study in his/her own country.
Documentation to be submitted:
- Academic Qualifications.
- General Health Certificate, including HIV status and a pregnancy test (for females).
- Police Certificate of Character.
- Birth Certificate (original).
- Ten (10) Passport size photographs
Travel Information
Applicants should be prepared to travel between 12-20 August 2020.
Application forms and relevant documents should be submitted to the Tertiary Section of The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training by Friday, May 22, 2020.
