The Embassy of Japan in Barbados is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for the 2023 Japanese Government Scholarship.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan opens the window of opportunity annually to Barbadians who seek higher academic degrees as research students at universities in Japan. The selected candidate, will receive the scholarship from April 2023 to March 2025 for the spring enrollment or October 2023 to March 2025 for the autumn enrollment.
This Scholarship Programme seeks to support Barbadians interested in pursuing studies in a Master’s, Doctoral, professional graduate course, or non-degree research study. The successful research student will receive a monthly stipend, paid tuition and one return ticket.
The scholarship may cover six months of intensive preparatory research and Japanese language training if required by the university.
Applicants must be Barbadian nationals, born on or after April 2, 1988, possess at least a bachelor’s degree, and are motivated to pursue advanced studies in Japan. Additional application details are available in the enclosed leaflet and on the Embassy’s website:
