The MRD has a complement of 36 persons on staff. The department is headed by the CMRDO who is assisted by the ACMRDO.  The management team is made up of the CMRDO, ACMRDO, MRDOs and the technical officer.

The autonomous status of the department is vital to the effective fulfillment of its mandate.  A major dimension of this mandate is that of supporting the Ministry's Education Sector Enhancement Progamme.  This task requires creative and independent leadership to spearhead and manage the production of quality educational media resources.
