The section of the MRD used most often by teachers is the EMRC. Teachers are able to source from charts to reference guides, manuals, text books, audio visual aids equipment, video tapes, CDs, musical equipment and even surf the web from the EMRC. There is an itinerary too where schools or organizations can on request to the EMRC have items delivered.
Production of Media Resources
The production of education media resources continues to be one of the major roles of the Media Resource Department. The department's approach and methods to the production process have varied over the years. These changes became a necessary response to facilitate new developments in education.
The policy for production of educational media resources has always been (and continues to be) guided by syllabus content, discussion with teachers and curriculum officers. Curriculum officers are involved in the development of MRD coordinated multimedia products. Their invaluable contributions continue to guide various stages of the production process. Curriculum Officers editing and evaluation of prototypes is ongoing and we are appreciative of their efforts. The Senior Curriculum Officer is notified annually about the development of MRD multimedia projects. Reports on the status of these projects are supplied from the EMRC.
